About me

About Me

Welcome to my web site which I hope you will all enjoy. This site is very much in it's infancy, and I will continue to develop and improve it in time. I've always wanted to develop my own site and it's been in my mind for a few years now.

As you browse through the site you will see I have a very broad subject matter not wishing to get stereotyped into one aspect of photography.  I do however, really enjoy landscapes, wildlife and portraits. It is always nice to try something different though, and will always try to develop my skills and understanding of photography.

I have been interested in photography since my early teens, but having children, work and my involvement with football has always restricted the time available. It was in my late teens when my good friend of mine took a keen interest that my interest began. Starting with an old Zenit E  film camera as it was all I could afford at the time. Then I upgraded to a Canon AE1 when I began work, followed by another AE1 body and a couple of lenses. I became very interested in portrait photography particularly when the children were small and also had quite a few portrait assignments mainly through close friends and word of mouth. It was at this time I bought a Mamiya C220 roll film camera and some studio lighting. The quality of print seriously improved with this camera, which I still have to this day, and will get out again someday for nostalgia sake.

I have a genuine interest in all types of photography and subjects and hope this is shown   by the content of the web site. I am now pretty hooked on photography again and get out as much as I can, when work doesn't get in the way. There's nothing nicer than getting out in the fresh air, all beit 1st thing in the morning or late into the evening. Over the course of the year I hope to spread my wings further a field seeking out photo opportunities and developing my skills.

Well I hope you will like my first attempt at this web site, which has been with the help of my daughter Helen. As mentioned it is still a very new web site to which I will be adding content on a regular basis. I would be very grateful for your comments as I've often said there is always room for improvement and there is always something new to learn

I do hope you will enjoy the site as much as I have taking the photos within it.
